  • Plants outgrow their pots too: A story of we outgrow things too:-)

Growth & growing- We don’t always see the growth immediately but we start to feel and notice when our pot, city, house, starts to become limiting. We have expanded our roots so much we have no place for more growth.

I was looking at my plant and looked at how low the soil was and I was a bit confused for a few minutes because this pot was full and now it’s less than 3/4 full. It finally dawned on me that yeppp my plant has outgrown my cute little pink pot. At this point majority of my plants I’ve had to repot because they’ve grown and it wasn’t until this plant that I had this remarkable thought.

    “Plants outgrow their pots too.”

    -AbbeyClaire

I bought this plant shortly after I moved to Los Angeles. I actually bought all my plants when I moved to Southern California. I love all my cute little plants, all 9 of them! They all vary in size from my monstera to my snake plant.

Growing up In Utah I rarely saw any plants in people’s homes. But when I moved to California it was part of the house. Having green living leaves in all corners of the home and apartments are what gives it character and in my opinion more life!

Humans and plants are so similar. I think that’s why we relate so much to plants. We need water, sunshine, and dirt to ground ourselves. The same goes with plants.

We grow on the daily and in the moment we feel the growing pains but then one day we learned the skills or lessons and then we naturally move onto something new while what we went through becomes so natural and a part of our routine.

I’ve been having the itch for something new. I’ve been in LA for the last 3.5 years and they have been the best years so far! I’ve met so many great people, I’ve explored and have done so many things in Southern California. But I like change and exploring new parts of myself.

I’m not sure what that change is yet because I’m not quite ready to leave La or Southern California because this has become my home. I have grown with it and I can’t imagine my life without being here. I know I’ve always been a west coast gal:-)

Moving to a new city you get to figure out what your favorite coffee shop is, what park you like to walk to, what’s going to be your local grocery store you’ll shop at. Once you have a routine and being in the city for awhile those just become default.

There is just something so magical of figuring things out on your own.

It’s okay to outgrow friends, places, and old beliefs. It’s normal to feel anxious or sad over a chapter closing. New beginnings and endings bring up so much emotion.

Brace change! The only thing constant is change! Grow through what you go through!

Every plant and human grows in different ways and in the environment they are in. If your environment is not nourishing you in the way you’d like, get up and start soul searching of what’s going to. We all require different amounts of sunlight, water, fertilization, and dirt. It’s up to us to reflect and become one with ourselves to internalize what we need.

Be kind to yourself and speak kind things to your plants too

  • Meet ABBEY CLAIRE : A heart full of care, and a spirit full of fire!

    Hi queridos míos!!!

I’m ABBEY CLAIRE and I CARE about a lot of things! I’m an empath for suureee. Can’t forget I’m also an Aquarius! So naturally I feel deeply.

According to my Hinge profile prompt I am obsessed with the ocean, beaches, earth, sunsets, music, and flowers. And from my resources those are all correct. I am also a very sensitive person but in the best way! I feel feelings and experiences 1000x more and it’s a beautiful experience. But on the other side of it when I’m sad I’m SADDDD. Ok we get the point.

I thought it was always a weakness but it’s not. It’s actually the best! My roommates can testify the many times I’ve walked in the front door from after work or the gym with mascara running down my face and eyes so swollen it appears I was allergic to my tears. Music is my safe space whether I’m in a happy bumpin need to shake my ass mood or sad over I’m single and still working on my business that just hasn’t quite built in the numbers and then that one sad song plays and the flow of the river of emotions dam is released. 5 minutes I’m back to shakin my ass. This is me. Hi. Abbey Claire.

I’m born and raised in Central Utah but have been Living in Los Angeles for the last 3.5 years. We will deep dive into my love for this city & Southern California in the next few posts but for now I wanted to write a sparks note report of who I am in the quickest few paragraphs to catch you up on my 28 years of life.

To know me is to know laughing. I will laugh at everything and anything. It’s just my core. I don’t know how it started but I am giggly to my bone. Funny booonnneeee!!!! Get itttt??? 😉 BAHA okay we can laugh together now.

Trying to tell stories is the best and worst because I will be laughing for a straight 5-10 minutes before even actually telling the story. My friends always know it’s me in a building because I have such a unique laugh. When me and my two other sisters are together we synchronize our laughs and it all just becomes one.

Hobbies hobbies hobbies!!! I love to learn new skills and things to do. I am a serial hobbiest if that’s a thing. Let’s name what hobbies I do have. Roller skating I picked up when I moved to LA. My roommate and I at the time would skate everyday during the summer after work and it would be our therapy skate sesh. Spotify playlist was cued and I was dialed into the craft. My soul was cured with putting on my Beats and playing and skating freely. My  limerence was slowly fading away over a guy situation I was heartbroken over. Twin flames you could say but I’m not allowing tik tok to influence me. I had to delete the app for 6 months I was so messed up in the head thinking he was coming back. Bahaha don’t get me started on paying a Tarot card reader in Beverly Hills $200 to help me get over him to only hear exactly what my FYP said.

I could really use that $200 now and want a refund lol

    BACK TO HOBBIES

    Here is a full list

    -Junk Journaling/ Scrapbooking

    -Snowboarding

    -Tennis

    -Sewing

    -Reading

    -Hiking

    -Swimming

-I listen to so much music I consider it a hobby

    -Cooking

It’s so so important to have hobbies and figure out what you like to do!! What fills your cup and gives you fulfillment. I’m not saying to have a surplus of hobbies but if you do that’s great but spend time with yourself and others that enjoys the same thing. It’s a beautiful experience to learn a new skill with a friend and also feel comfortable doing it by yourself.

I wanted to write a blog to tell my stories, give advice, and uplift others. Beauty, balance, and the real stuff is what I will be sharing! The last thing I wanted to mention is I am an aspiring hair and makeup artist in LA. I chose to share this last because our jobs and careers don’t define us. That’s the smallest portion of our life on Earth. What makes up a majority of our lives is our family, friends, experiences, traveling, and what we enjoy in life and who we spend it with. From one of my favorite Bands LANY they have a song that I always think of. Nobody else.

“Life ain’t about what you do,

It’s who you do it with.”

    -LANY

I LOOVE what I do but also the people that are in my circle. There are so many other parts of my life that make me who I am not just my career.

My advice for the week is be who you are 1000% .

“Don’t ever hold yourself back. There is only ONE of you in the world of  8.1 Billion people. Do the numbers and there is still only 1 of you. So why are you comparing yourself? Why aren’t you allowing yourself to be your full potential? There is no one to compare yourself to besides YOU.”
